Happy May! I am elated to report that I am feeling much better! Most of the side effects from my chemo pill have subsided. My oncologist has been treating my side effects with medication (yay, more pills! ugh) but it seems to be working. I am starting to feel like myself again.

We went to St. Simon's Island, GA for Easter weekend. We originally thought we were going to have to cancel, but we decided to go and hope for the best. Turns out that trip was the best medicine. Spending time with my boys and floating in a pool with sunshine was exactly what I needed. It was glorious!

I had another infusion on Tuesday, and it went very well. I have scans scheduled for May 19th and another infusion on May 20th. I need all the prayers and good thoughts you can spare! I NEED the scans to come back showing no new growth or better yet shrinkage! Please manifest this for me. I am desperate for a win.

The One with Your Help!

One of the things I have worried about the most after being diagnosed with cancer is being forgotten when I am gone. As I navigate looking at colleges and scholarships for Jackson (Class of 2026), I realized there is a scholarship need for those affected by sarcoma. Cancer is a financial burden that no one asks for. Whether it is a child or a parent, sarcoma causes financial distress. I have decided I would like to start an annual scholarship fund for individuals that have/had sarcoma or have a parent or sibling suffering from sarcoma. It will be called the Make It Count for Cort Scholarship Fund.

I need your assistance to get this initiative off the ground! I'm not sure where to begin, but I believe I'll need the help of an attorney and an accountant. If you know anyone who might be interested in offering pro bono services, please pass along my information. Once we get things started, we'll need to raise funds for the scholarship. My initial idea is to organize an online raffle. I'll gather donated items and set up a raffle where people can buy tickets online for a chance to win. I'll begin asking for raffle items once the scholarship fund is established. Please start thinking about items you could donate to help make this a success!

I am trying to use my fight to help others. Please join me and help me make the Make It Count for Cort scholarship fund a success. Love to you all!

Cort
