I have great news....and $#%& news! šŸ˜„

Happy Wednesday and Happy August! After my radio-frequency ablation in my humerus in June, the Robateau's have been on a roll!!! Jackson and I took our annual Mother/Son trip to Disney World in July and then Nick took him and Jackson on their first Father/Son Golf Trip in August.

I promise to update both of those trips in my next post. Jackson and I had INSANE pixie dust thrown our way for our trip and it turned into a journey of a lifetime. I can't wait to share it with you soon.

āœ” GREAT NEWS

I had a PET scan on Monday and an Arm MRI on Tuesday. Both of those came back clear of cancer in my ARM and MY LEG!!!

āŒ $#%& NEWS

They found a suspicious spot in my heart. I went first thing this morning for a cardiac MRI and had the results quickly. There is indeed a mass that looks malignant in the right atrium. The soft-tissue sarcoma team I have worked with for 5 years is not equipped to deal with cardiac tumors. Within two hours I had to be set up with a cardiologist and a Thoracic surgeon to be seen on Sept 4th. From questions, I have asked and multiple people I have spoken with...it unfortunately looks like I will be undergoing Open Heart Surgery. Something drastic may change but this looks like the path that I am on.

I am of course terrified. Not for myself but for my son and my husband. It would require about a week in the hospital and a 6-week recovery. Jackson just started his junior year in school (which is the worst) and is taking AP classes this year, he is in the middle of soccer season while simultaneously completing basketball workouts. All while trying to establish a social life and be a typical 16 yo. None of this is fair to him.

Oh, and my poor husband. He has been with me since 1999. We have been through it all together. Just breaks my heart to put any more pressure on him. He is always there by my side, but I wish he could get some grace coming his way. I hate to see any extra pressure on him.

But life is a BITCH and here were are. We have feelers out on a second opinion from some pretty incredible college friends Nick and I had. We will make the right decision, and I will face whatever is coming my way.

I will face whatever boulder I need to push up the next hill! That is just who I am!!!

We need your prayers, good thoughts, and help coming our way!

Love, Cort
